隨波逐流 Currents

每座城市都傳遞著不同的訊息，每個群體都有自己的潮流。

如果你在台北或新竹長大，你跟著潮流走，最後會進入台積電、FAANG，或是醫學院。如果你在北京或上海長大，你進大廠或體制內。如果你在新加坡長大，你會進入政府機關或金融業。如果你在舊金山長大，你最後會進新創公司。

我想大多數人其實不知道自己在做什麼。他們被所在環境的氛圍所塑造，從來沒有真正去了解其他選項。但更重要的是，大多數人從來沒有問過自己真正想要的是什麼。所以他們就隨波逐流。

如果你意識到自己正在隨波逐流，你有兩個選擇：花一些時間去探索你真正想要的，然後用餘生去追求它；或者就繼續跟著下一波別人在做的潮流走。

我認為你總是可以選擇。

Every city carries a different message, and every community has its own current.

If you grew up in Taipei or Hsinchu, you follow the current and end up at TSMC, FAANG, or in medical school. If you grew up in Beijing or Shanghai, you join a big corp or work in government. If you grew up in Singapore, you go into government or finance. If you grew up in San Francisco, you end up at a startup.

I guess most people don't really know what they're doing. They're shaped by the vibe of their location, and never really learned about other options, and most importantly, never asked themselves what they actually want. So they follow the current.

If you notice yourself following it, you have two choices: spend some time exploring what you genuinely want, and then pursue that for the rest of your life, or just follow the next current of what other people do.

I think you always have the choice.
